On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, the Palais des Rois Sardes in Nice was the venue for a new edition of IA Dates. The event, co-organized by the Department of Alpes-Maritimes, the Maison de l’IA, SICTIAM, and the EuropIA Institute, focused on the forward-looking question: « How will we live in 2040? ».
This meeting aimed to provide a broad perspective on the major technological and societal transformations already underway that will shape our future. The goal was to understand the changes that will impact our daily lives in the coming years.
Pierre Grand-Dufay, a futurist and Founding President of TERTIUM Invest, shared his vision on potential developments in various fields such as artificial intelligence, robotization, health, energy, employment, demographics, geopolitics, and governance.
The conference also addressed the consequences of these transformations on our jobs, decision-making processes, and our way of living together, going beyond mere technological innovations to question their societal impact.
The rise of artificial intelligence was particularly highlighted, presenting numerous opportunities as well as crucial challenges regarding ethics, sovereignty, governance, and social cohesion. Essential questions were raised about how to support these developments, maintain our decision-making capacity in an increasingly automated environment, and harness these new technologies for collective progress.
This edition of IA Dates thus stimulated collective reflection on our ability to understand and anticipate future changes, in order to better prepare for them.
