A new video produced by the agency Folks for Inserm Occitanie Pyrénées delves into the research conducted at the Centre for Cancer Research in Toulouse (CRCT) on tumor resistance.

Among the millions of cells that make up a tumor, some are naturally less sensitive to treatments. When medication eliminates the others, it is these cells that survive and multiply: this is tumor resistance, one of the main obstacles to cancer recovery. This is the phenomenon the video aims to explain.
At CRCT, research teams combine their expertise to understand these mechanisms and devise new therapeutic strategies. The goal is to block the mechanisms that allow tumor cells to survive, make existing treatments more effective, and target their weaknesses.
The video highlights the work of several teams, with the participation of Pierre Cordelier (ImPact Team), Elizabeth Moyal (RADOPT Team), and Jean-Emmanuel Sarry (METAML Team).
The Centre for Cancer Research in Toulouse (CRCT) is located at the Oncopole in Toulouse.
