The Gers Chamber of Agriculture has announced significant changes regarding coupled aid for forage legumes, which will come into effect from 2027. These modifications aim to better target areas dedicated to animal feed.
The main novelty is the removal of the minimum threshold of 5 LSU (Livestock Units). Aid will now be granted within the limit of one herbivore LSU per hectare of declared forage legumes. Pigs and poultry will no longer be taken into account in the LSU calculation.
Another important development allows a producer to rely on multiple contracts with different breeders to justify the LSUs needed for their application. Similarly, a breeder can submit one or more contracts with other breeders via TéléPAC. Multi-party contracts remain possible between producer, breeder, and service provider or intermediary.
Contracts must explicitly mention the area of forage legumes concerned. Applicants will also need to ensure that their co-contractors have a sufficient number of LSUs, as this information is not directly available in TéléPAC.
“"The president of the Gers Chamber of Agriculture has contacted the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock to ease these criteria."
