The forest massif near Biscarrosse was severely affected by the fire on July 30th. This disaster resulted in the total destruction of 53 businesses and partial damage to 59 others. Approximately 800 businesses have suffered economic impacts, including operational losses and partial unemployment. The total cost of damages for affected businesses is estimated at €55 million.
In response, the community of communes, the town of Biscarrosse, and their partners quickly set up a support unit and established technical and psychological assistance services. To ensure continued support, a temporary technical advisor will be recruited for a 6-month contract, providing a reliable resource for businesses seeking advice.
The project manager's responsibilities will include identifying affected businesses, organizing weekly support sessions, facilitating information meetings with institutional partners and local businesses, and mobilizing expert assistance (legal, insurance, accounting) to resolve cases and defend business interests. Continuous information dissemination and communication actions will also be part of the role.
Required skills include strong interpersonal abilities, effective oral and written communication, teamwork, knowledge of the business and local government sectors, project management, data analysis, proficiency in mapping tools, initiative, and autonomy. The position, classified as category A or B, is a contract role for 35 hours per week, to be filled as soon as possible.
