The Minister of Agriculture, Food and Food Sovereignty, Annie Genevard, opened the plenary session of the National Council for Collective Catering (CNRC). She congratulated stakeholders for their efforts to meet the objectives for sustainable and quality product sourcing, emphasizing the key role of collective catering in promoting French and European products.
The 2026 remote declaration campaign on the digital platform 'ma cantine' saw unprecedented mobilization, with nearly 50,000 canteens submitting their purchase data, a 47% increase from 2025, representing 59% of collective catering sites in France. These figures provide a more precise overview of purchases made in 2025. Annie Genevard expressed confidence in continued momentum for the next campaign, scheduled from January 13 to March 31, 2027.
Purchase data from 2025 indicates that 31.1% of products were sustainable and high-quality, with 12.1% from organic farming. Canteens that have declared for four consecutive years achieve an average of 34.3% sustainable and quality products and 15.9% organic products. School catering stands out, with primary schools exceeding the 50% sustainable and quality product target and approaching the 20% organic product goal, while nurseries meet both objectives.
The Minister also recalled the contributions of the emergency law for agricultural protection and sovereignty, including simplified remote declaration, stronger orientation of public canteen purchases towards French and European produce, and the inclusion of new product categories eligible for EGalim objectives. The decree of October 16, 2026, formalizes these measures.
Finally, Annie Genevard highlighted the need for exemplary conduct in state collective catering, working collaboratively with relevant ministries.
