Despite the rejection of the first part of the 2027 Finance Bill, MPs have voted to restore the financial trajectory negotiated in late 2022 between CMA France and the State, a decision welcomed by the organization.

The National Assembly has adopted several amendments, proposed at the request of CMA France, reinstating the financial trajectory for the Chambers of Trades and Crafts (CMA). These votes follow the rejection of the first part of the 2027 Finance Bill.
MPs voted twice to restore the financial trajectory negotiated in late 2022, which foresees a reduction of 60 million euros in fiscal resources between 2023 and 2027. This limits the decrease to 7.25 million euros in 2027, instead of the 25 million euros initially planned by the Government.
This vote by a large majority sends a clear signal to the Government: the commitments made by the State in 2022 must be respected. The ceiling for the CMA's Fiscal Tax (TFCMA) is thus set at 143.149 million euros for 2027 and subsequent years. MPs also recognized the efforts already made by the network and the need to provide it with visibility to continue its transformation.
“

"A reduction of €25M would purely and simply mean the disappearance of the CMA network, at a time when artisans, France's leading businesses, need it most. This vote is also a signal of confidence in the transformation process we have initiated. We ask senators to send the same signal to the Government: the trajectory negotiated at the end of 2022, which represents a significant effort, must be respected. This dedicated tax finances the service provided to artisans, not state deficits. The stability of our resources is essential to support the 2.2 million artisanal businesses. It is nothing less than the survival of our consular network that is at stake."

Joël Fourny · President of CMA France
CMA France is now calling on senators to submit a similar amendment to the one adopted by the National Assembly, ensuring that the negotiated trajectory is respected. The organization emphasizes that the stability of its resources is essential to support France's 2.2 million artisanal businesses.
