During the summer, the community of communes of Les Versants d’Aime favorably approved its participation in the share capital of the cooperative society of collective interest « Centrale villageoise Énergies Tarines ». The local authority subscribed to 20 shares, each valued at €50, for a total amount of €1000.
The « Centrale villageoise Énergies Tarines » brings together citizens from the territory – individuals, associations, local authorities, and local businesses – around equitable governance (1 associate = 1 vote) to lead projects for energy transition and develop renewable energy production capacity.
In the form of a SCIC (Société Coopérative d’Intérêt Collectif), the objective of Énergies Tarines is to promote citizen initiatives for the installation and operation of renewable energy production plants, the development and promotion of renewable energies and energy savings, and raising public and community awareness of the causes and consequences of climate change.
Investing in this citizen project allows for the production of local solar electricity, contributing to the decarbonization of the territory's energy needs and connecting its inhabitants around the sharing of a resource. It also offers participation in the structure's governance and control over energy costs in an unstable international context.
